Amazon has officially surpassed a $3 trillion market capitalization, becoming one of only a handful of companies in history to reach this milestone. The achievement followed the company's stronger-than-expected second-quarter financial results, which boosted investor confidence and drove its share price higher.

A major factor behind the rally was the exceptional performance of Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company's cloud computing division. AWS generated $42.2 billion in revenue, representing a 37% increase compared with the same period last year. The growth exceeded Wall Street expectations and highlighted the increasing demand for cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence services.

Amazon also reported healthy growth across its e-commerce and advertising businesses. Improved operating efficiency, higher consumer spending, and continued investment in AI-powered products contributed to stronger profitability. Company executives noted that demand for generative AI services through AWS continues to accelerate as businesses expand their AI capabilities.

The $3 trillion valuation places Amazon alongside a small group of technology giants such as Microsoft, Nvidia, and Apple. Analysts said the milestone reflects investors' confidence in Amazon's long-term growth strategy, particularly its leadership in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, digital advertising, and online retail.

Despite later market fluctuations following news that founder Jeff Bezos plans to sell a portion of his Amazon shares, many analysts believe the company's underlying business fundamentals remain strong and expect AWS and AI investments to continue driving future growth.
